RE: Another Wal-Mart thread

I am sure that if WalMart thought it was a problem, than WalMart would have said something to them. We have stayed in their parking lots..............and with the generator running. I always go inside and ask if it is ok to spend the night. Why are you so sure those people didn't do the same???

RE: Dogs Banned from Driver's Seat

Now they need to outlaw letting them ride loose in the bed of pickup trucks It is in some places........many have laws requiring dogs be secured either in a crate or to be tied so they can't jump/fall out. Heck, I know some humans I'd like banned from the drivers seat. LOL

RE: Dogs Banned from Driver's Seat

A pet is a living, breathing, got a mind of its own thing. If fido is happily sitting on your lap, or wherever and decides to make a quick move, you will react. That reaction could cause a problem. I love my animals, and would/have/will do/done most anything for them, but they are still pets and need to be treated as such. So unless a pet can get a drivers license, they do not belong in the drivers seat. Heck, I don't even allow mine in the front seat, period. While numerous other activities are distracting, at least you can control the situation.

But they still are just HIS thoughts, to which he is entitled. Again, it doesn't make it fact.

RE: Saturday night Nascar at Richmond

Is Hamlin being penalized? I haven't heard that. DeSpain says Rowdy is the best driver in NASCAR, at this time. Rebecca They only gave him a "on-the-spot" penalty of a driveby through pit road. Not true. Finally, with nine to go, Hamlin's tire gave up. He went high entering Turn 3, slowed, then stopped in Turn 4 to bring out the caution. NASCAR penalized him two laps for deliberately causing a yellowN, and Hamlin finished 24th, three laps down Taken from an article from NASCAR.com. Also, this nonsense that Busch is the best driver according to Despain??? Well, everyone is entitle to his/her opinion, but that don't make it a fact.

RE: Saturday night Nascar at Richmond

Only two things change things at NASCAR. Someone/something with money and race related deaths. So until big and rich sponsors get tired of the antics of some, who shall remain nameless, and demand something be done (which most likely won't happen) or until the antics of some, again who shall remain nameless, actually kill someone, nothing will be changed. A little melodramatic?? Perhaps, but you get my drift.

RE: Saturday night Nascar at Richmond

Of course, it's the driver who turns the steering wheel. But, all of us who have driven racecars know that it becomes an instinctive reaction to turn into the slide whenever your car is "loose"(under steering) while in a turn. Well, any of "you" who have driven race cars who admit to having an "instinctive reaction" ought to be penalized when "it" causes problems for others. There is more than one race car on the track, and as such there is no room for instinctive reactions, only clean driving.

RE: Kentucky Derby

Perhaps, but it is not due to the fact that they (the dogs) are forced to do something when their bodies are not mature enough to do. Stuff happens in all sports. Dogs die. Horses die. People die. All I am saying is that the horses should be given a fair chance to succeed in this sport. And that means NOT racing them at such a young age.

Which video??? The one that shows Busch turning up into Jr.?? Car wheels do not turn themselves.

Nobody is whining. Just calling a spade a spade.

RE: Kentucky Derby

Nobody said to ban racing. Just don't race them until they are physically able to handle it. But big money talks, and these horses will continue to pay for it. And to compare this to other sports which involve people who have the ability to THINK FOR THEMSELVES and CHOOSE to participate, is just insane.

Yuppers, there was no need for Hamlin to stop.

RE: Kentucky Derby

As long as they continue to race such young and immature horses, this kind of tragedy will continue to happen. In order to RACE a 3 year old, the training had to have started as a 2 year old. At the age of 1 year: the horse's pasterns have fused At 18 months: his cannon bones are mature At 30 months (2.5 yrs): he now has stronger - but not entirely mature - knees (the small bones have fused), and his fetlock joints are mature At 3 years: the weight-bearing area at the base of the knees is fused, as well as his hindleg between hock and stifle At 3-and-a-half: the highest part of his foreleg, the humerus, is fused, as are parts of his femur, the area of his hindleg between stifle and hip At 4 years: the shoulder is fused, and the hocks and pelvis are now mature At 5-and-a-half: the growth plates over the centrum, which allows the spine to flex, become fused Source, and more info HERE.

RE: My Little Secret

Lots of RV's on the road here in Vegas. Also, most parks have waiting lists going for monthly summer sites. Parks are NOT cheap here either.

RE: I will be a mobile rv repair man, should I have an 800 # ??

If I needed service, I would call any number. It would not matter which, as a call is a call with my cell. It doesn't care if I call a toll free number or not, it still counts towards my minutes. :) Best of luck with your business. I know of a repair tech who is also a fulltimer. Always has more work than he can handle at whatever park he is staying in. I do think that if you post a business card or advertisement on a bulletin board, you should list the dates that you will be available to that area. NOTHING worse than calling someone and finding that they are now half way across the country. Then I'd be upset, 800# or not. LOL

RE: Cobalt Towing Problem

I would have to say yes to both of your assessments. It did not stall every time it was slowed to a stop, but sure seemed like it would. It has been running just fine since I got it back from the Chevy dealer after they said there was nothing wrong. LOL This is what the local guy (who looked at it first) said: Computer codes stored for transmission problem U0073 and PO700. Road tested vehicle. Torque converter locked and erratic shifting. The dealer guys said they got no error codes.

RE: Cobalt Towing Problem

It started bucking, and as I got further (about 1 mile) it was getting worse, so I just went back to the RV park. When we started it later in the day so I could show my husband what it was doing, it did the same thing. The next day when the local mechanic tested it, it did the same thing. So I guess the answer to your question is yes, it happened several times and it was restarted in between.

RE: Cobalt Towing Problem

After all, you drove it into the dealership!!!! You did not tell us that. I did not say that cuz that is not what happened. Please reread my original post. Tow truck to the dealer. It WAS driven to the local mechanic, who is about a 1/4 mile away, and at that point, had no idea what was wrong with the car cuz no one had yet looked at it. Capt Flipper, no we didn't forget the fuse, it's just habit to remove it. Plus, it's been 2 months since we last towed it.

RE: Cobalt Towing Problem

Now I am more perplexed.....the dealer called and said they cannot duplicate the bucking and stalling nor did they get any error codes as the other mechanic had. So not exactly sure if this was a false alarm or not, but I know how the car was acting, and what the first mechanic said about it. Went and picked the car up and it is running fine, which is good. I think.
